Terms of Use

Onyx (the "App") is made by Shivam Vohra and is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement — the governing license for the App, covering your license to use it, acceptable use, warranty and liability. Read it here: Apple Standard EULA. Where it conflicts with this page, the EULA controls.

This page covers the parts specific to Onyx.

Onyx Premium

Onyx is free to download and use. Onyx Premium is an optional upgrade, offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription, each with a free trial, and as a one-time lifetime purchase (no trial). Prices and trial lengths are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy; they vary by region and may change, and the price shown at purchase applies. Apple handles all purchases through your Apple ID.

• If a subscription includes a free trial, you aren't charged during it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription and your Apple ID is charged. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.
• Cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies — I can't issue them directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• The Lifetime option is a single purchase and does not renew.

Not a medical device

Onyx is a habit tracker, not a medical, mental-health or professional advice service. Reminders are standard iOS local notifications, which Apple delivers on a best-effort basis — they can be delayed or missed if your device is off, out of battery, or has notifications restricted. Don't rely on Onyx for anything health-critical, including medication.

Disclaimer

Onyx is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Warranty and liability terms are governed by the EULA.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Onyx, including lost data, lost profits, or missed reminders. My total liability for any claim relating to Onyx is limited to the amount you paid for Onyx Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $20 if you haven't purchased Premium.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claim arising from your misuse of Onyx or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not covered by Apple's EULA will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
